CONTINENTAL TIRE MONTEREY GRAND PRIX THE TUDOR UNITED SPORTSCAR CHAMPIONSHIP May 2015
Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca hosts the 2nd race of west coast schedule.
The Continental Tire Tudor Series United Sportscar Championship.
This is the 2nd Annual running of this series after the unification of the Grand-Am Rolex Series with the American Le Mans Series.
This year the Tudor United SportsCar Championship will run with 4 classes of cars instead of 2 like last year.
The 4 classes consists of Prototypes; High-Tech cars with various engines and chassis. Prototype Challenge; are all ORECA FLM09 Chassis with Chevrolet LS3 engines. GT Le Mans; production based cars modified for maximum performance. These cars would be the likes of BMW, Corvette, Ferrari, Porsche and SRT. The 4th class cars are the GT Daytona class; a stock production type car. The Delta Wing cars are classified with Prototypes.
This series is second to none for fan entertainment. On Friday and Saturday, you have cars on the track for practice and qualifying. For more enjoyment, fans can enjoy garages, souvenir stands and food vendors.
On Saturday, Fans get the chance to meet and greet their favorite drivers, even get your picture taken with your favorite driver, along with an autographed poster. Sunday the fans can venture on to the grid. All classes are staged in Le Mans Style display for up close and personal view of the cars.
After the grid is cleared and the final prerace activities are completed, the race is ready to begin. The Monterey Grand Prix Endurance race runs for 2 hours and 40 minutes.
The weekend Support Series includes:
Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge, Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo and Mazda MX-5 Cup.
